The Island Education Foundation board is excited to welcome the Dewey Wood Scholarship Fund (DWSF) to our family of locally focused education-based grants and scholarships. 

DWSF was initally incubated and managed by Project Launch. In this new partnership, IEF will oversee DWSF’s selection process, while the Maine Community Foundation handles DWSF’s financial investments.  IEF’s board administers grants with their own funds as well as the Garland Scholarship Fund, all for Deer Isle-Stonington schools, students, teachers and organizations, and is celebrating its twentieth year. The Maine Community Foundation, in Ellsworth, was founded in 1983, and is committed to bringing people and resources together to build a better Maine.
